Ye-shu-a - A form of the Hebrew word "Ya'hoshua". Ya'hoshua, transliterated as "Jeshua" or "Jeshuah" in the Septuagint and the New Testament. The name was brought over into Greek as "Hey'zus", into English as "Jesus".
In Matthew 1:21 we read; "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Yeshua (Jesus), because he will save his people from their sins."
